Our Offices Are Now Open

As we monitor the COVID-19 situation, we have updated our preventative measures to protect patients and staff.

Hope everyone is staying healthy and not been overly stressed with all the challenges we have all had over the last two months. Fortunately none of us or our families have had their health directly effected by COVID - 19. For those of you that have had any deaths or sickness in your family and friends we empathize with your pain or loss. For those of you that have had your livelihood and business effected and felt the humiliation and frustration of being told the hard work you have done to further your career and support yourself and your family is considered an extremely insulting term “non essential” we understand your frustration. What we are going through is not the “new normal” it is what we have to endure for now but we are all starting the road back to normalcy that we all crave.

We are considered essential healthcare business so we have been open and have seen many of you. We were only open to see patients with pain, infection, swelling and trauma. Under guidance from the Illinois Department of Public Health we are now clear to resume a full range of dental services. We will highlight temporary changes on the included overview page. We will have a backlog of patients for awhile so if you were one of the hundreds of our guests who had their appointments cancelled with no future appointment made we will be contacting you.

I realize more than ever that all of us at the office miss everyone dearly and it has been difficult not using the talents we have been given to serve you. I just turned 50 and now I definitely realize I am nowhere near retirement and not close to being ready. For now dropping into our office to talk, read magazines, grabbing a cup of coffee is not possible. Hugs and handshakes are gone for now too but we will not live in a dehumanized society void of human touch forever.

Since we are a small boutique dental office we are uniquely qualified to thrive during the shadow of COVID - 19. We are not a clinic so we do not see multiple patients at once and we have private enclosed treatment rooms. As a dentist I have always practiced under universal precautions so the steps we have always had the proper protocol in place but we are enhancing and taken further precautions above and beyond what the Center for Disease Control recommends. Your safety and our dedicated staff’s safety is and always will be our top priority.

It is understandable if some of you still have concerns or health issues that cause you concern. Feel free to ask any questions about our cleanliness and enhanced infection control protocols. Common sense guideline have always been in place such as if you are sick or with a fever do not come to the office. I cannot think of another step we can take to ensure your safety and the staff’s safety and to reduce the chance of transmission of COVID - 19. Your health and safety is of utmost concern and is in excellent hands. No one at our office would have it any other way. Just as with previous financial crises some of you may have had your business decimated or income negatively effected. As our valued guests please do not hesitate or be embarrassed to seek treatment or receive care. Please discuss that with us. We will take care of you! It is an honor to take care of everyone and look forward to seeing everyone back at the office. Stay healthy!

Achieve a Comprehensively Beautiful Smile with a Smile Makeover

A smile makeover combines two or more cosmetic procedures, such as dental bonding, veneers, and teeth whitening, into a single treatment plan. This method of treatment saves time that would otherwise be spent on several visits to the dentist, translates into savings on the combined cost, and can make comprehensively planned treatment that much more effective. Dr. Art Carpenter is a highly experienced and skilled dentist, and can help you plan smile makeover treatment at his office in Kenilworth, IL.

Dental needs change over time and not all dentists will provide the most lasting or effective recommendations, which make smile makeovers the best approach to achieving optimal, long-lasting results.

If you have a wedding or other important event coming up soon, a smile makeover can help you achieve the photo-worthy smile you want. Depending on the full course of treatment, you may even be able to complete your smile makeover in just one day at our office.

A Smarter Approach to Cosmetic Treatments

While many patients pursue smile makeovers as a fast way to address discoloration, misshapen teeth, and asymmetrical smiles, one of the most important benefits is actually the intelligently and comprehensively designed treatment plan. Dental needs change over time and not all dentists will provide the most lasting or effective recommendations, which make smile makeovers the best approach to achieving optimal, long-lasting results.

Commonly Combined Treatments

Dr. Carpenter customizes every smile makeover using a variety of treatments to help his patients address concerns over the shape, position, and brightness of their teeth.

Dental BondingGapped teeth

Composite resin material is used to add volume to a tooth that does not match the size of surrounding teeth, or is misshapen. Dental bonding can also be used in smile makeover treatment to address chips, cracks, small gaps and slightly misaligned teeth. (Patients with more pronounced orthodontic issues may want to consider treatment with the Inman Aligner™.) The material is shaded to match your surrounding teeth to blend invisibly with your smile.

Porcelain VeneersDentist places a veneer on a tooth

Porcelain veneers are crafted to look beautifully natural, and can help patients achieve a brighter and more uniform smile. These thin shells of porcelain are durable and extremely versatile. They can cover stains, worn teeth, small cracks and chips, and a number of other imperfections for a smile that looks flawless.

Teeth WhiteningSmile simulation of before and after teeth whitening

Teeth whitening is commonly added to smile makeover treatments, and plays an important role in determining the veneers and dental bonding material selected. If teeth whitening is incorporated into treatment, Dr. Carpenter will be able to use a lighter shade of dental bonding material and veneers, creating a dramatically brighter smile.

Gum Contouring

An even, smooth gum line can enhance the appearance of your smile and provide a beautiful frame for your teeth. If you have excess gum tissue, we can sculpt your gums during a gum contouring procedure for a more uniform look.

"We have been coming to Dr. Carpenter for several years now after seeing dentists that lacked good patient relationships. Dr. Carpenter is patient with those who fear going to the dentist (that's me), explains what needs to be done and provides different options for treatment. Worth the trek from the city!"
